Build Biz Weekend — Apps Due

BUILD BIZ Weekend is a hackathon to build small businesses. Over the course of two days, a team of service providers will hack the systems, processes, software and brand assets of 5-10 businesses to set them up for growth, scale and more sales.
BUILD BIZ Weekend is a partnership between Cortex and Heydays and will take place at Cortex on August 30th and 31st.
If selected, founders may be required to pay a small fee of $250 for the subsidized cost of services (a $5,000-10,000 cost) and Cortex will cover the rest. EVERYONE GETS A SCHOLARSHIP!!! You get a scholarship, you get a scholarship, you get a scholarship!!!
Service providers include:
- HR/Ops Professionals — Lighter Living Virtual Solutions
- Digital Marketers — Grow With Google x Heydays
- Graphic Designers — Girl Louie x Valeria R. Creative
- Photographers and Videographers — Church Productions
And, deliverables include:
- SOPs and KPIs
- Business Systems & Automation
- Search Engine Optimization
- Starter Sites or Website Revamps
- Newsletter or Social Media Templates
- Branding Assets, Credit Support & More
THE TARGET/IDEAL ENTREPRENEUR:
- Identifies as a small business
- Has been in business 2-5 years
- Has at least 25-50K in annual sales/revenues
- Note: you can still apply even if you do not meet the requirements
THE TIMELINE:
- July 19: application opens
- Aug 4: application closes
- Aug 5-8: founders selected
- Aug 9: founders announced
- Aug 19: intake form due
- Aug 19-30: service provider prep
- Aug 30 & 31: hackathon at Cortex
Note: if selected, founders will be required to complete a more extensive in take form by August 19th and may be required to share software passwords with the team.

Friday, August 30: 5pm — 10pm
Saturday, August 31: 10am — 5pm
